Slovakia: temporary derogation from driving and rest times for drivers
The derogation is in force from November 11, 2020 00.00 to December 10, 2020 24.00.
The National Labor Inspectorate, authorized by the Central Crisis Staff of the Slovak Republic of November 9, 2020, by virtue of Art. 14 sec. 2. of Regulation (EC) No 561/2006, has agreed to a temporary and limited relaxation of the enforcement of driving and rest times for the drivers involved in domestic and international delivery of goods in the Slovak Republic, from 11 November 2020 00.00 to 10 December 2020 24.00 as specified below:
1. the maximum daily driving limit is increased from 9 to 11 hours (derogation from Article 6 (1) of Regulation (EC) No 561/2006),
2. the maximum weekly driving limit is increased from 56 to 60 hours (derogation from Article 6 (2) of Regulation (EC) No 561/2006,
3. the maximum fortnightly driving limit is increased from 90 to 96 hours (derogation from the application of Article 6 (3) of Regulation (EC) No 561/2006),
4. the required daily 45-minute break can now be taken after 5 and a half hours of driving (derogation from Article 7 of Regulation (EC) No 561/2006),
5. the minimum daily rest is reduced from 11 hours to 9 hours (derogation from Article 8 (1) of Regulation (EC) No 561/2006).
