Hungary: possible problems with HU-GO and MOL cards during the May long weekend

Carriers operating transports to Hungary or through the country should prepare for limited MOL card customer service during the May long weekend. From 1 to 3 May 2026, the fuel card customer service department will carry out only basic operations, which may also be relevant for users of the HU-GO road toll system.
During the May long weekend, drivers and transport companies using MOL cards will face service limitations. From 1 to 3 May 2026, the fuel card customer service department will be practically unavailable, which may also affect the functioning of the HU-GO road toll system.
During this period, only the following operations will be possible:
- blocking cards,
- blocking and activating PIN codes.
Other matters, including administrative operations or changes to settings, will not be handled.
The restrictions may also affect the HU-GO system. In the event of problems, for example a change in the number of vehicle axles, a temporary solution will be available via a dedicated website. To use it, the following will be required:
- registration number, without a hyphen,
- e-mail address linked to the HU-GO account,
- customer code assigned by MOL.
In addition, the operator reminds users about organisational changes. Since 1 April, a new entity has been responsible for service operations, which means, among other things, that payment account numbers should be verified. The service interruption falls during a period of increased traffic, so a lack of preparation may result in delays or stoppages in transport operations.
Before the May long weekend begins, it is advisable to top up funds and limits, check access to online systems, and verify account details and settings.
