Mont Blanc Tunnel with a series of closures. The first half of June will be the most difficult

In June, drivers travelling between France and Italy must expect night-time closures of the Mont Blanc Tunnel and temporary alternating one-way traffic. The biggest disruptions are planned for the first half of the month, so it is worth checking routes and travel times in advance.
The tunnel operator has published a schedule of technical works and infrastructure maintenance activities, which will cause a series of night-time closures and temporary alternating traffic in June.
❌ The biggest disruptions will occur in the first half of the month. The tunnel will be completely closed to traffic in both directions:
• from 8 to 9 June, 19:00 to 06:00,
• from 9 to 10 June, 22:00 to 06:00,
• from 10 to 11 June, 22:00 to 06:00,
• from 11 to 12 June, 22:00 to 06:00.
❌ Further night-time closures are planned at the end of the month:
• from 25 to 26 June, 22:00 to 06:00,
• from 29 to 30 June, 22:00 to 06:00,
• from 30 June to 1 July, 22:00 to 06:00.
Additionally, during the night from 24 to 25 June, between 22:30 and 06:00, alternating one-way traffic will be in place on a single lane. This may lead to queues and longer travel times, especially for heavy goods transport.
The closures are related to maintenance works and activities aimed at ensuring the safety of users of one of the most important Alpine road crossings. The restrictions are planned mainly during night hours to minimise the impact on daytime traffic.
