Freight drivers can no longer enter UK
The restriction applies to all non-British national or resident travellers (including freight drivers) who have been in or through Denmark in the last 14 days.
The decision follows reports of widespread outbreaks of coronavirus in mink farms, with a variant strain of the virus spreading to some local communities.
British Nationals and residents who are returning from Denmark will be required to show a complete passenger locator form on arrival into the UK.
The Home Office announced they would step up Border Force presence to ensure that those arriving to the UK from Denmark were compliant with the new restrictions.
The travel ban and expanded self-isolation requirements will be reviewed after 7 days.
