Slovakia allows an exception on May 1. Trucks may reach their destination only until 9:00

Slovak authorities are introducing a temporary easing of road transport restrictions on May 1, 2026. At the request of the carrier association ČESMAD Slovakia, the Presidium of the Police Force of the Slovak Republic has approved an exception to the existing driving ban for heavy goods vehicles.
According to the decision, from 00:00 to 09:00 trucks will be allowed to reach their destination within Slovakia. The exception applies only if the destination is located in the country - mainly for unloading, transport bases, or other final delivery points.
After 09:00, standard restrictions for heavy goods vehicles will come back into force, meaning trucks must stop for the duration of the ban. In practice, the decision is intended to reduce congestion at the borders and allow ongoing transport operations to be completed without unnecessary delays just before reaching their destination.
