Hungary suspends the weekend and holiday traffic ban

To ensure uninterrupted supply of goods, the Hungarian Ministry of Innovation and Technology (ITM), acting on the authorization of the Ministry of Agriculture, has suspended the ban for an indefinite period. As a result, lorries are now allowed to travel on national roads also during weekends until further notice.
A similar temporary exemption from the HGV traffic ban was introduced from mid-March to the end of June. The decision comes in response to requests made by professional organizations asking ITM to apply the solution adopted in the first wave of the epidemic.
The suspension will allow domestic companies to organize their deliveries in a more flexible manner. Drivers will now be able to reach their destinations without additional interruptions, as long as they respect driving and rest periods.
